How it works:
- Get dealt 5-7 cards
- Make sets (3+ of the same rank) or runs (3+ in sequence of one suit)

- First to get rid of all cards (or lowest score when someone knocks) wins
Similar to Gin Rummy but faster and simpler. Games last 5-10 minutes.

Gin Rummy — Simple but Strategic
Learn in 10 minutes.
How it works:
- 2 players, 10 cards each
- Draw and discard to form sets (3+ same rank) or runs (3+ sequential same suit)
- When your unmatched cards (deadwood) total 10 or less, you can knock
- If ALL cards are matched, you’ve scored gin (bonus!)
The draw-discard-meld cycle is the same as Tonk, just with deeper strategy.

Hearts — Easy Rules, Deep Strategy
Learn in 15 minutes.
How it works:
- 4 players, 13 cards each
- Play tricks (highest card of the led suit wins)
- Avoid hearts (1 point each) and the Queen of Spades (13 points)
- Lowest score wins
The trick is that the rules are simple — but figuring out HOW to avoid hearts takes real strategy.

Spades — Learn Partnerships
Learn in 20 minutes.
How it works:
- 4 players in 2 teams
- Bid how many tricks you think you’ll win
- Play tricks — spades are always trump
- Make your bid = score. Miss your bid = penalty.
The bidding adds one extra layer over Hearts, but it’s still very learnable in one sitting.
